Role: Technical Support– SCCM / Patching
Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: 40k - 50k plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose:
To deliver technical support for endpoint
management and patching systems, ensuring security, compliance, and optimal
performance across the organisation's IT environment. The role involves
administering and maintaining Microsoft SCCM and related patching tools,
diagnosing and resolving deployment issues, and collaborating with teams to
implement updates, automate processes, and uphold service standards.
Key responsibilities:
6. Provide hands‑on technical support for SCCM administration, patch management, end-point compliance, and automation.
7. Manage desktop deployment solutions using SCCM and MDT, including OS image build, capture, and deployment for Windows 10 and 11.
8. Coordinate patch deployment and endpoint management with UK support teams, expand-ing to global coverage over time.
9. Deliver BAU support for SCCM/MDT, troubleshooting and owning incidents, problems, and deployment failures within agreed service levels.
10. Perform detailed root cause analysis on recurring SCCM, patching, or managed desktop issues to prevent reoccurrence.
11. Ensure correct configuration of SCCM infrastructure, baselines, collections, schedules, and proactive health checks across customer environments.
12. Collaborate with security teams to align patching and desktop management with vulnera-bility remediation and audit requirements.
13. Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and hybrid SCCM/Intune integration, con-tributing to cloud modernisation initiatives (Azure AD, Intune).
14. Design and troubleshoot Group Policy to support managed desktop environments.
15. Provide third‑level escalation support for SCCM queries and technical issues.
16. Maintain accurate technical documentation, deployment guides, quick reference materi-als, and compliance reports to professional standards.
17. Drive automation and service improvements in patching, desktop deployment, and end-point management.
18. Assist with audit and compliance activities, ensuring standards are met across managed desktop and patching services.
