Overview
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Mental Health Team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital (RGH), a key site within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB). This is a pivotal time to join a clinically strong and forward-thinking service committed to excellence in patient care, professional development, and staff wellbeing.
RGH provides inpatient service through four wards: Admissions Ward (14 beds): Intensive assessment and short-term stabilisation; Ward 21 & Ward 22 (14 beds each): Ongoing treatment for localities; PICU (6 beds): High-level care with consultant cross-cover. All admissions are managed via the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHT). Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Allied Health Professionals. Daily reviews and collaborative care planning involve patients and families.
CTMUHB is remodelling inpatient services to a direct-to-treatment model, recovery-focused redesign, and strengthened integration with community services. Workforce development and MDT skill mix reviews are underway.
