Job Description
3. Be responsible for ensuring all payments are processed in an accurate and timely manner with the correct level of approval as dictated by the delegated authority matrix set by the board.
4. Lead the department's data input function ensuring the accurate validation of all invoices before matching them to a purchase order (PO) and accurate coding to ensure authorisation can be obtained via the workflow.
5. Lead the department's support team who are the first point of contact for all invoices, documentation and queries. Ensure that all KPIs are met or exceeded and suitable levels of customer service are delivered consistently.
6. Ensure the setting up of new vendors is accurate, timely and follows the necessary controls.
7. Ensure the timely payment of expenses ensuring accuracy and adherence to policy and processes.
8. Manage all outgoing cash processes including payment runs, faster payments, petty cash and monitoring of direct debits; ensure the payment runs that are processed
9. Support the team's efficiency through the measurement of the KPIs and by seeking and delivering process improvements
10. Manage your direct reports, setting objectives that align with the Finance processing team goals and SLAs to drive process improvement and monitor performance, along with regular one to ones, coaching and development
11. Provide advice and guidance internally and externally on accounts payable issues, liaising with the systems team, accounting teams and other departments to automate processes and support change when required
The Successful Applicant
A successful AP Manager should have:* Extensive accounts payable experience * Experience managing a large accounts payable processing team in a large and complex organisation * Experience of developing and delivering against KPIs and SLAs to drive process improvement and performance enhancement * Experience working with six sigma, lean and or other process improvement methodologies to achieve sustained improvements * Good understanding of accounting concepts
