Position: PE Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at UPS
Responsibilities
* Conduct regular inspections and servicing of conveyor systems to identify and address potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor and facility systems.
* Carry out mechanical maintenance, including bearings, belts, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
* Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in sortation equipment.
* Assist in the installation of new machinery or facility equipment when required.
* Respond promptly to equipment failures, diagnosing and rectifying faults to minimize downtime. Ensure minimal downtime by responding quickly to emergencies.
* Analyze root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance and reliability.
* Participate in projects aimed at upgrading or optimizing sortation systems within the facility.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports and fault logs.
* Provide detailed shift reports to supervisors, highlighting completed tasks and any outstanding issues.
* Adhere to and promote health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
* Monitor the performance and condition of mechanical assets, recommending replacements or upgrades as necessary.
Qualifications
* Bachelor\'s degree or international equivalent in engineering – Mechanical biased preferred
* Equipment maintenance experience including mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding-Preferred
* Proficiency in fault-finding and repair of mechanical systems, including conveyor belts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
* Experience in using SCADA systems and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting - Added advantage
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
