About the role
We are looking for a People Advisor who is confident in providing ER advice and generalist HR support to a variety of front-line managers within the business.
Do you have:
8. Proven multi-tasking experience working in a fast paced, high volume people advisory role?
9. Good working knowledge of employment legislation and managing ER case work?
10. Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to think ahead and plan work to meet deadlines?
11. Experience in supporting management teams, coaching line managers in line with policy, process and legislation?
12. Are you confident to challenge others with the ability to offer advice and recommendations?
13. Able to work well under pressure, take pride in your work with high attention to detail and accuracy?
14. Have excellent communication skills, maintaining a professional etiquette at all times?

The main purpose of this role is to provide an effective generalist service to a range of front line managers and colleagues within Best.
Main Responsibilities
15. Supporting an effective recruitment process, ensuring a fair, diverse and inclusive approach to attract the best people, ensuring compliance to Right To Work
16. Compliance to all policy and process throughout the employee lifecycle, coaching front line managers where required
17. Support induction and probations, providing advice where required
18. Advise on attendance management (short and long term) supporting absence reduction, ensuring policy and process is fairly applied
19. Support the People Partner/Head of People with projects where appropriate
20. Provide advice to line managers regarding investigation process, ensuring appropriate completion in an appropriate timescale
21. Advise and provide administration support during complex disciplinary and grievance hearings
22. Support and deliver engagement and learning & development activities, including talent management and performance improvement plans
23. Identify areas for improvement and supporting
24. Collating data and reporting information for analysis to identify areas for improvement
This role is initially on a 6 month basis but has the possibility for extension or becoming a permanent position.
You will need
25. CIPD Level 3 qualified or equivalent experience in a generalist HR role
26. Proven experience in providing HR support within a fast-paced, operational environment — ideally within logistics, warehousing, or transport
27. Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices, particularly in relation to absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures
