About the Role As our new Peer Review Specialist, you will provide ongoing technical and administrative support for clients, editors, and authors using OUP's online submission systems and peer review services. You will respond to queries professionally, resolve technical issues, maintain documentation, and ensure author guidelines webpages are accurate and up to date. This position also requires handling specialised author questions and supporting the management of external suppliers who deliver virtual editorial office services. A key part of the role is helping journals adopt best practices, improve efficiencies, and make effective use of new system features. This includes analysing how individual journals configure and use submission systems, supporting the setup and testing of new sites, and gathering specifications from clients. The role contributes to projects that enhance author and peer review support services and ensures smooth transitions when new systems or features are introduced. Collaboration is central to the position, working closely with production, editorial teams, and other internal stakeholders to deliver an excellent publishing experience. The role also supports the creation and maintenance of internal process documentation, helping to ensure consistency and clarity across the team's work. Overall, the position plays a vital part in maintaining high‑quality support for OUP's journals and improving the systems and processes that underpin scholarly publishing. We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. About You Essential: Good communication skills. Good negotiation and influencing skills. Experience of providing technical support, particularly to non-specialists. Experience of using, or supporting others in using, an online database and/or workflow management tool.
