Client Manager

We’re representing a well-established accountancy practice in Chester that’s looking to appoint an experienced Client Manager to join their expanding team. Whether your experience is audit-led, accounts-focused, or a combination of both, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a larger, forward-thinking firm.
This role is ideal for someone currently managing a portfolio or operating at Assistant Manager level, ready to take full ownership of client relationships and the quality of service delivered.
You’ll work across a broad client base, supporting businesses of various sizes and sectors, with the autonomy to shape how you manage your workflow and client interactions. This is an office-based role, with the option for occasional work-from-home flexibility as needed.
Role Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact
* Overseeing accounts and/or audit assignments from planning to completion
* Building and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
* Supervising and reviewing the work of junior and senior team members
* Ensuring timely delivery of services, meeting internal and external deadlines
* Supporting partners with strategic planning, technical queries, and client growth
* Identifying opportunities to add value through additional services or advice

Candidate Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Currently working at assistant manager level within a UK practice
* Strong technical knowledge in audit, accounts, or both
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to juggle deadlines and priorities
* Confident communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
* Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues
* A commitment to delivering excellent client service
