An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, and assist in negotiations for renewals,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection across all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications, PODs, and major credit decisions,
* Manage credit limits, litigation, insolvency procedures, and claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and risk assessments,
* Maintain relationships with stakeholders across departments,
* Review sales terms and visit customer sites as needed.
