Senior Health Care Support Worker/Clinic Prepper
Job Summary
The post holder will work as an integral part of the Outpatients Services team. As an employee of the NHS Wales the post holder will be required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales. Working over four days between the hours of 08:00 - 18:00. The HCSW/Prepper will be an integral part of the clinical team. The role is a mix of administration and prep which need to be undertaken to assist the successful delivery of Outpatient Services on a daily basis. The post holder will link with members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical activities are planned and completed in line with outpatient treatment guidelines.
Main duties
* To work within the policies and procedures as laid down within the Trust and observe the safety of patients / clients.
* Check and chase up patient blood results (internal/external)
* Electronically admit and discharge patients ensuring appropriate follow up appointments/information is given and recorded
* Aware of the importance of prevention of infection in immunocompromised patients.
* Direct patients to appropriate treatment area of department
* Telephone contact with patients to rearrange appointments
* Refer complex enquiries to nursing team or line manager
* Analyse information to ensure compliance to standards and collates evidence through audit to support this.
* Assess the bookings on a continual basis judging the impact each new booking will have on the nursing workload
* Prep each Clinic and ensure maximum chair usage using the Cansic lists and chemo care

* Experience of working as a HCSW in the NHS with evidence of skills, knowledge and development
