Job Overview
We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong interest in networking technologies and modern engineering practices. In this hands‑on role, you will support the delivery of network‑focused projects by carrying out configuration, implementation tasks, and technical changes aligned to agreed designs. Working closely with architects, senior engineers, and delivery managers, you’ll focus on executing project activities rather than making design decisions or providing day‑to‑day operational support. You’ll be on hand to assist with any technical work related to the projects you’re assigned to, ensuring changes are delivered accurately, securely, and to a high standard. You’ll also contribute to project outcomes by applying modern networking practices such as automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and configuration‑as‑code, as guided by the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
* Work hands‑on as a Network Engineer, supporting and delivering network infrastructure across the organisation using Cisco switching, SD‑WAN, firewalls, and enterprise wireless.
* Contribute to the delivery of network‑focused projects, collaborating with architects and senior engineers to implement secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
* Manage exposure to technologies such as Palo Alto firewalls, Silver Peak and Palo Alto SD‑WAN, Extreme Networks switching, and Aruba WiFi.
* Support a variety of customer‑facing services and critical internal infrastructure projects.
* Carry out technical changes and project tasks in line with agreed designs, ensuring changes are delivered accurately, securely, and to a high standard.
* Apply modern networking practices such as automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and configuration‑as‑code in line with the wider engineering team.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to project delivery; maintain high engineering standards and collaborate effectively within a wider delivery team.
* Assist with technical work related to assigned projects, ensuring secure and high‑standard delivery.
Required Qualifications
* Demonstrable hands‑on experience with Cisco switching, including configuration, patching, and network maintenance in enterprise environments.
* Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, rule management and policy changes.
* Experience with SD‑WAN technologies, including Silver Peak and Palo Alto SD‑WAN solutions.
* Hands‑on experience with enterprise wireless networks, configuration and maintenance of Aruba WiFi solutions.
* Solid understanding of network security principles, segmentation, and secure connectivity across LAN/WLAN/WAN.
* Experience with configuration and change management, incident/problem resolution, and evolving endpoint solutions based on modern infrastructure standards.
* Experience working within structured change and project environments, following best practices and established engineering standards.
* Experience collaborating with architects and project managers to agree enterprise‑wide solution designs and plan implementation across a central and multi‑region estate.
