IDEXX is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Veterinary Software team in London. This hybrid role requires 2 days onsite in Wimbledon. The engineer will lead data migration strategies across hybrid cloud environments, primarily AWS, and design, develop, and optimize data pipelines integrating PHP, C#, .NET, and React. Key tools include Terraform, AWS services (Lambda, EC2, EKS, Step Functions, VPC), Snowflake, and Airflow, supporting AI/ML initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead data migration architecture (on-premise to cloud/cloud-to-cloud)
* Design scalable, secure systems using AWS services
* Interface with legacy PHP/C# systems and modern .NET cloud-native services
* Support AI data projects and collaborate with AI/ML teams
* Build and maintain bespoke systems, develop ETL pipelines, and implement governance and monitoring
* Guide engineering teams on cloud data handling, Terraform, and secure architecture
* Coach junior developers and collaborate cross-functionally
Qualifications
* Bachelors in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
* 7+ years in software/data engineering, with recent cloud migration experience
* Proficient in MySQL, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda), PHP, C#, .NET Core, React, Python, AWS EKS
* Experience with AI projects is a plus
* Strong knowledge of Git, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes
* Understanding of data compliance regulations like GDPR
