Role Overview:
Are you looking to be part of a dynamic manufacturing team where quality and precision matter? We’re seeking an Assembly Fitter to join our Engineered Systems Manufacturing Unit (ESMU) at Runnings Road East. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for assembling, testing, painting, and packing products to the highest standards, ensuring productivity and quality are never compromised.
Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…
1. Assembling, testing, painting, and packing standard product ranges.
2. Operating and setting machines in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Working from engineering drawings and daily plans to meet production targets.
4. Performing shot/bead blast cleaning and basic paint spraying.
5. Maintaining high standards of quality and adhering to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
6. Engaging with continuous improvement initiatives and contributing ideas.
7. Supporting team operations flexibly and developing your own personal development plan.
8. Collaborating with internal teams including production management, planning, engineering, maintenance, and quality.
Your previous experience is likely to include….
9. Proven experience in fitting and assembly within a production manufacturing environment.
10. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
11. Use of numeracy and literacy skills to follow daily plans and tasks.
12. Basic computer skills and an understanding of your commercial impact.
13. Experience or familiarity with MIG welding, paint spraying, hydro testing, or shot/bead blast cleaning.
14. Use of overhead cranes (gantry and pendant).
