This is a senior finance leadership role within a growing operational business delivering essential services. The position offers the opportunity to have a real impact on performance, decision‑making, and long‑term planning, while leading and developing a capable finance function.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality financial reporting, providing commercial insight to senior stakeholders, and supporting strategic and operational objectives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and develop the Finance and Administration teams
* Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
* Work closely with senior leaders on budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
* Oversee cashflow management and forecasting to support operational needs
* Provide clear financial insight to improve profitability and commercial performance
* Support pricing decisions and input into tender and bid submissions
* Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
* Manage and coordinate the annual external audit
* Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, and governance requirements
Experience & Qualifications
* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA)
* Strong experience producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
* Proven capability in cashflow management and financial planning
* Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing finance teams
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
* Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
