Main Responsibilities
As the successful Process Operator, you will report into the Production Coordinator. Since our plant operates 24/7, this role requires flexibility to ensure effective plant operation. On a day-to-day basis, duties and responsibilities include (not exhaustive):
* Monitoring the automated performance of the pre-heater, kiln feeder, rotary kiln burner, calciner, exhaust gases, emissions, and cooler processes.
* Interacting and manipulating the process to maximize cement production and ensure it remains within specifications.
* Working as part of a team to manage daily blockages, housekeeping, general maintenance, and production issues.
* Populating production data into various site software systems to monitor performance levels efficiently.
* Monitoring, reporting, and recording incidents, abnormalities, or deviations based on an appropriate checklist.
* Reviewing equipment and production conditions according to job plans.
* Ensuring Tarmac complies with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
* Maintaining good housekeeping standards within the department.
* Ensuring additives and raw materials are available at designated areas in correct quantities.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Process Operator with experience in a similar role. Experience in a cement background is beneficial but not essential.
We would like applicants to have the following skills and experience:
* Mechanical or electrical process knowledge.
* The ability to carry out heavy manual work.
* Experience working in a production environment or maintenance team.
* A comprehensive understanding of safety procedures, leading by example.
* Having a certificate in isolation procedures and a mobile plant license is desirable.
