As Project Manager report into the Senior Project Manager, forming part of the Project Management Office (PMO), joining a team of specialists, providing functions that are intrinsic to the delivery of the project spread across “Design”, “Supply” and "Maintenance". The 3 contracts are NEC condition based, principally covering Activities under Lump Sum and Target Cost pricing. We deliver this through a multi-discipline, international mix of professionals and “Sister” companies. You will act as the representative of the PMO Team, to both internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating project activities from start to finish.
Project Management
Create detailed project plans, setting milestones to ensure contractual deadlines are met,
Allocating appropriate resource management,
Lead & motivate the project team, delegating tasks and ensuring effective communication,
Identify potential risk and develop mitigation strategies,
Ensure Internal & External stakeholders are abreast of project progress, timelines and challenges,
Project Management of processes needed within the Project PMO to ensure milestones are delivered, in particular;
* Key Dates,
* Completion Date,
Programme Information (Designs, documents, manuals, delivery dates),
Timely Project Management Data (time limited or commercial time/cost data).
Responsibility for the engagement, liaison, and day to day coordination of inputs and outputs with regards to internal or external interfaces, in particular:
* Sister Companies,
* Supply Chain,
* Customer
* Track Contractors.
Contract Management
Form a close working relationship with internal and external interfaces providers to ensure any contractual matters are raised in a timely manner, in particular to ensure contract information is provided to meet NEC deadlines utilising CEMAR for;
* Early Warnings and attendance at Risk Reduction Meetings to present mitigations
* Quotation data from Sister companies
* Responding to Technical queries (TQ’s)
* Requests for Information (RFI’s)
* Preparation of “Departure” data and Presentation(s)
Commercial Management
Ensure project budgets are maintained with the assistance of the Commercial Manager and undertake periodically reviews such as;
* Cost Valuation Reconciliation (CVR)
* Budgeting & Forecasting
* Change Management
Programme Management
You will liaise with various project team members within the PMO and Sister companies such as BIM, Projects Controls, Engineering and Design Managers & Team to ensure timely entry of data and documentation into Common Data Environment and ensure compliance to project control and management systems, such as;
* Across the various platforms, i.e. P6 (Primavera) program, Teamcenter etc
You will ensure submissions are achieved in line with the planned CL 32 programme and /or other contractually agreed milestones.
You will, in discussion with the senior Project Manager, agree any corrective action in the event of variance and ensure timely action is taken
Project Governance
Ensure from a corporate perspective that the project remains in line with compliance regulations, policies and procedures (i.e. Legal, financial, contract, procurement, Health and Safety).
To ensure there are clear, transparent and auditable records produced, updated and circulated that monitor all aspects of the delivery of all aspects of the project and thereby internal reports (i.e. time, money, variance and corrective action).
Qualifications & Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge/skill/ability required to perform the essential functions of the job:
* Membership of a Project Management Body ie APM, PRINCE, etc
* Degree in Project or Business Management or equivalent experience
* Experience in the Construction, Civil Engineer or Railway Engineering Sector
* Strong data accuracy with excellent planning, organisational, and administrative skills
* Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Intermediate to advanced MS Excel capability
* Analytical, logical, and innovative thinker
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Methodical approach with high attention to detail
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities
