Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team in providing essential care and support to individuals in need. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through dedicated personal care services in Dacorum area (Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Berkhamsted).

Principal responsibilities

1. To assist clients who need help getting up and going to bed in the morning and evenings, including dressing and undressing, washing, bathing and going to the toilet.
2. To help clients with their mobility and with any physical disabilities, including incontinence and use of personal aids and equipment.
3. To care for clients who are temporarily sick and need bed nursing and help with feeding etc.
4. To provide care and support for clients who are terminally ill.
5. To help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of clients through talking, outings, reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
6. To make and change beds, light cleaning, emptying commodes and general tidying.
7. To inspect, launder and mend clients’ clothes.
8. To set tables and trays, prepare and serve light meals, clearing away and washing up.
9. To read and write reports and be involved in clients’ reviews and training activities.
10. To adhere to all Caremark’s policies and procedures at all times.
11. To report either to the Field Care Supervisor or Care Manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a client.
12. To encourage the independence of clients wherever possible.
13. Carers must also be able to accompany clients to hospital appointments, shopping trips, and community activities.

What We’re Looking For

28. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle
29. Aged 18+
30. Right to Work in the UK
31. A kind, compassionate attitude and calm approach to care
32. Great communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
33. Weekend availability (preferable)
34. No healthcare assistant experience required – we’ll provide all the training you need
