Sterling Recruitment Services are looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Manager to join our steel manufacturing client based in Middlesbrough. Overall, Purpose of job: To manage the factory on singular and multiple company projects. Primary responsibility is to carry out their duties in such a way that there is no risks to the health and safety of anyone on the premisses or adjacent land or site deliveries. To carry out, oversee, and evaluate the operations for the manufacturing hot roll and ancillary items, such as Bracketry and plasma works. Monitoring and updating the progress of each project to ensure that the materials / product is manufactured and delivered in line with the programme. To create short term programming to ensure that the master programme is adhered to. To update the Factory Programme with the delivery dates issued by Procurement for the materials into the factory and revise the Factory Programme accordingly to ensure that the delivery dates to site are adhered to. Coordinating transport to ensure that the product is delivered to site when required. Reporting and documenting of all factory based processes and events. Operative number management. Area of Key Responsibility Responsibility for the health and wellbeing of all persons within the factory and adjacent land. Production of the components within the factory and delivery to site in line with the Programmes. Issuing the manufacturing control sheets to the Factory Supervisor. Creating the delivery tickets including drawings. Quality control. Factory and office maintenance and compliance with the Factory Management Plan. Roles & Responsibilities: Meetings with senior management to discuss and coordinate the workload on a daily basis. Receive the Production Planner and update the Factory Programme Receive the material control sheets from Procurement complete with the dates when that material is scheduled to arrive in the Factory. Update the Factory programme. Issue the material control sheets to the Factory Supervisor and review programme and work load requirements. Reviews training based on the skill base requirements of the Factory. Review the efficiency of the factory to make savings / efficiencies in the Factory. Review labour requirements and efficiencies Create progression plans for the factory operatives. Ensure that the Factory Management Plan is adhered to including general tidiness, pedestrian and vehicular barriers, walkways, loading and storage areas. General maintenance of the factory and office including external areas and gates. All documentation is complete, issued inline with the company QMS To increase efficiency and profitability over all areas within the factory phase
