Pay Rate: £37,666.52

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday starting between 4am-11am (9hr shifts)

We're now looking for a Transport Trainer/Cover Driver to to play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.
This role will start predominantly as a Driver with a view to move into a Transport Trainer role in the future.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE
* Driving an 18T rigid HGV (Class 2) to deliver ambient, chilled and frozen products to DHL workshops within prisons. Multi-drop up to 4 drops per day
* Responsible for loading and unloading using PPT's and a tail lift
* Items will be on pallets – weighing up to 800kg or wheeled dollies (loaded with totes) up to 200kg
* Work in close proximity with prisoners and other DHL colleagues
* Work closely with the Transport Management Team to ensure we train our drivers to be safe, efficient and customer focused
* Regularly monitor drivers with telematics and compliance reporting as well as in cab coaching
* To assess and train drivers, including SMITHS system refresher course and slow speed manouver training
* To complete driver re-assessments
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO
* Previous experience within a transport environment – essential
* Excellent people and communication skills – essential
* Hold a HGV Class 2 licence - essential
* Computer literate – essential
* H&S background– preferred
* Previous practical experience as a transport trainer/DDA – preferred
* Previous experience working with Tachomaster + Microlise - preferred
