We are seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to support the dispensary & stores team. The successful candidate will help procure, supply and distribute medicines safely, effectively and efficiently, and play a key role in medicines optimisation and sustainability agendas. The postholder will be part of a friendly and supportive team, with development opportunities including a comprehensive induction and ongoing training. Flexible working arrangements may be considered.

Responsibilities
* Support the Chief Pharmacy Technician in providing an efficient dispensing, procurement and distribution service following relevant SOPs.
* Dispense a wide range of prescription types accurately and methodically.
* Order, receive and invoice pharmacy stock; maintain stock in line with manufacturer guidance, including temperature monitoring, stock rotation and expiry date checks.
* Provide a stock top-up service to wards and departments, including theatres.
* Support the training and development of staff in dispensary activities.
* Assist the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Dispensary by leading and coordinating workflow.
* Ensure service users receive information about their medicines.
* Carry out reception duties such as answering the hatch and triaging phone calls within the dispensary.
Qualifications
Essential
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service
* Experience as a pharmacy assistant
Desirable
* Hospital experience
* Knowledge of pharmacy systems such as WellSky, Omnicell, PTS
Experience & Skills
Candidates should be highly motivated, committed and a strong team player with excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure, with strong attention to detail and good communication is essential.
