Responsibilities
In this pivotal role you will take departmental leadership responsibility for all elements of clinical education, supporting a broad spectrum of learners and career pathways including Diagnostic Radiographers, Apprentice Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers and undergraduate students. Working closely with the Radiology Workforce Lead and wider senior team, you will help shape training pipelines, build workforce capacity and ensure high‑quality learning experiences across all modalities. You will lead the development, coordination and delivery of the Radiology Education Strategy, supporting both current staff and the future workforce across multiple training pathways.
You will design, manage and deliver a blended programme of education that aligns with national, regional and local workforce needs, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences for all cohorts of learners. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners – including Higher Education Institutions, apprenticeship providers and regional workforce groups – you will build strong networks that enhance training capacity, create advanced practice opportunities and support alternative routes into the profession.
A key focus of the role will be developing long‑term training pipelines that promote staff retention, support career progression and ensure the sustainability of radiology services at RWT. You will provide expert educational leadership underpinned by post‑graduate qualifications, oversee placement governance, support supervisors and assessors, and contribute to service improvement, workforce transformation and recruitment initiatives across the department.
