We are currently recruiting for an Investment Manager to join our Maven team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Maven’s team, based in Nottingham, is responsible for the successful delivery of a Debt fund, which is part of Midlands Engine Investment Fund II (MEIF II), launched by the British Business Bank in 2024 to support regional SMEs. The Fund provides loans of between £100,000 and £2m.
The role involves originating, completing, and monitoring loan transactions to SMEs based in the East and South East Midlands.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
* Experience providing loan finance to UK SMEs.
* Proven track record in originating and executing transactions from initial contact to completion, including understanding of loan and security structures and documents.
* Backgrounds in business, commercial, and corporate banking (e.g., relationship management, credit), corporate finance, or accountancy.
* Excellent numeracy skills, including debt transaction assessment and financial analysis.
* Strong relationship management skills and experience working with businesses and stakeholders.
* Successful networking and business development experience.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
* Excellent attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and maintain a network of key business introducers in the East Midlands to promote Maven and MEIF II, and develop a pipeline of deal opportunities.
* Assess new loan proposals and prepare investment papers for discussion with the MEIF II credit committee.
* Negotiate loan terms with management teams and advisors, and coordinate due diligence, including AML/KYC processes.
* Develop ongoing productive relationships with portfolio businesses to monitor performance and add value where needed.
* Assess and monitor monthly management accounts, covenants (if applicable), and budgets to ensure ongoing debt serviceability.
