You will be contracted to work on a rotating shift pattern. Each working week consists of 4 shifts of 8 hours and one of 5 hours. Currently the shifts are Early (starting at 06:00hrs to 14:00hrs) and Afternoon (starting at 14:00hrs to 22:00hrs Mon-Thurs, 06:00hrs to 11:00hrs and 11:00 to 16:00 on Fridays). Enhanced shift rates will apply.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
1. Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems efficiently to the right quality levels and ISO standards, and to achieve build schedules
2. Ensure that the requirements of the BOM and the customer specification are achieved
3. Identify and resolve build problems
4. Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process
5. Maintain your levels of technical competence by undertaking necessary training
6. Act as a point of reference to ensure that the technicians within the build area are fully aware of the build sequence
7. Train and guide less experienced technicians
8. Set an example of the highest level of build cleanliness, house keeping and Health and Safety issues within the build areas, and support and promote 5S initiatives
9. Contribute to the performance of the Production Team through continuous improvement initiatives
10. Work on a rotating shift pattern in line with the rota notified to you by your Team Leader.
About you:
Essential unless otherwise stated:
11. Time served Electrical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or HND, HNC, or BTech level 3
Detailed wiring skills to a precision level, including:-
12. Lead-free soldering
13. Panel wiring to schematics
14. Ability to read electrical drawings
15. Ability to fault find and implement corrective action
16. Ideally - combination of mechanical, electrical and electronic assembly skills
17. Ideally - experience of working in the semiconductor industry
18. PC skills
19. Highly committed team player
20. High standards of build quality; flexible, co-operative and willing; punctual and self-disciplined
21. Good communication skills
