Salary: £35,000 p.a. - Dependent upon Experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) experience. You will work closely with the Chief Technical Officer and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to promote, implement, and oversee SHEQ requirements and responsibilities of the company.

This role requires an accomplished influencer capable of innovating changes within the organization, contributing to successful implementation, and fostering a positive Health and Safety culture. You should be results-driven, able to set targets, and achieve results by meeting or exceeding goals. Additionally, you will enhance your skills and those of others to develop within their roles for the company's long-term needs.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and forward thinker, able to analyze the company's risk levels and areas of non-conformance, anticipate potential issues, and provide effective solutions for continuous improvement through new ideas.

Key tasks:

1. Oversee the company's SHEQ policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with ISO standards, ESG targets, UNGC membership, EcoVadis Platinum standards, and all legal, regulatory, internal requirements.
2. Review regulations, document compliance, implement necessary changes, and communicate legislative updates, maintaining communication with official bodies as needed.
3. Maintain company-wide Health and Safety registers, ensuring they are current with legislation.
4. Manage accident records, ensure proper incident recording, and complete investigations within appropriate timeframes.
5. Conduct SHEQ audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and assist managers with risk assessments and control implementations.
6. Ensure risk assessments are current, covering hazards, fire safety, DSEAR, and chemicals.
7. Use the T100 system to assign and monitor training, providing feedback to management.
8. Guide and support employees and managers on SHEQ matters through training and awareness programs.
9. Manage and update the Quality Management System, record non-conformances, and ensure investigations and CAPA processes are followed, reporting monthly to Chief Officers.
10. Represent the company during external audits of site/building operations.
11. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage SHEQ incidents and emergencies.
12. Assist leadership in developing and maintaining emergency response and business continuity plans.
13. Participate in health and safety meetings, report ongoing issues, and provide monthly updates adhering to GRI standards.
14. Ensure activities comply with the ISO9001 management system and environmental policies.
15. Contribute to building a positive health and safety culture within the organization.

Education/Experience/Skills:

* Degree or equivalent in Chemistry.
* Willingness to obtain NEBOSH general certificate within the first 12 months.
* Knowledge of Risk Assessments and COSHH.
* Adherence to safe working practices.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365, MS Teams, and ideally T100 and SAP.
* Quick learner with a willingness to acquire new skills.

Special Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

* Experience in chemical production or storage facilities.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
