Overview
Inveralmond Community High School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is committed to improvement and excellence. The successful candidate will support the vision for the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post at an exciting and challenging time for education in the school. Inveralmond Community High School is a comprehensive non-denominational school situated in the Ladywell area of Livingston and serves a cluster of six primary schools. The school roll is currently 1000; the school is a very supportive environment with a relentless focus on driving up standards. The school provides a broad education for young people from first year through to sixth year and offers a full curriculum. The successful candidate will have the necessary experience and leadership skills to lead a team and assist in taking forward the principles of Curriculum for Excellence to support the improvement agenda of the authority. The candidate will also hold full school responsibility for STEM.
The post is designated as a Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment, with the cost borne by the candidate.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team and implement strategies to achieve the school vision and improvement agenda.
* Fulfil full school responsibility for STEM.
* Ensure effective learning and teaching by setting high expectations to help pupils realise their potential.
* Encourage pupil involvement in the wider life of the school.
* Support Curriculum for Excellence delivery within the school and the authority.
Qualifications
* Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
* PVG Scheme membership/update required; cost borne by the candidate.
