We are looking for a Relief Support Worker to join our service based in Ipswich.
Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Shift patterns vary depending on individual needs, including personalised 1-1 and shared support hours. Sleep-ins are also required.
About our Service
We provide varying levels of support, from an hour a day to 24-hour support. Some individuals we support have their own cars and enjoy outings such as visits to the beach or zoo. Support activities include attending church, cleaning, racing events, visiting the zoo, and going to the pub. Most people prefer to go out daily regardless of weather.
What does a Relief Support Worker do?
You will provide outstanding support to help individuals live comfortable, dignified, and happy lives. Responsibilities include:
* Personal care – assisting with morning and evening routines, bathing, continence, and bathroom use.
* Supporting personal safety – carrying out checks as per individual support plans.
* Providing person-centred support – engaging in conversations, reading support plans, understanding individual preferences, communication styles, and support needs.
* Communication and record keeping – maintaining detailed records of support provided, including daily notes, medication support, finance records, and food and fluid charts. Effective communication and handovers are essential.

All services offer 24-hour care with rotas prepared at least 4 weeks in advance to facilitate planning. Sleep-in shifts are available with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
