We have a rare opportunity to lead the Occupational Therapy team at Rampton Hospital, delivering regional and national services. We are seeking to recruit a Band 8a Occupational Therapy Professional Lead to further develop our team. The post holder will provide strategic oversight of service pathways and delivery to aid recovery and progress the patient journey. The role will be split with our current Band 8a Occupational Therapy Professional Lead on a part-time basis, with potential to increase hours in the future.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. The cost is deducted from salary following appointment (£26.40 standard or £54.40 enhanced). The DBS application cost is deducted over the first two months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service, an annual fee of £16 applies.

Responsibilities
* Be a highly specialist Occupational Therapist with significant clinical and professional experience
* Provide leadership and management for the OT service at Rampton
* Provide an in-depth understanding of OT impact across multiple clinical care streams within a team or care unit
* Be responsible for oversight of professional and strategic planning to utilise resources as appropriate
* Provide professional and clinical leadership for the OT service across the Trust; contribute to professional governance and standards
* Undertakes workforce planning, skill mix reviews, staff recruitment and retention analysis; leads recruitment of uni-professional staff and improves recruitment and retention through understanding local demography and service demand
* Assesses, develops, supports and implements programs of care and treatment to meet the complex and specialist needs of the patients
* Promotes multi-disciplinary liaison and collaborative practice within and between services, care units, wider Trust and other agencies
* Provide professional supervision to staff and act as a role model to motivate others
* Ensure staff have appropriate skills, training, supervision and equipment to safely carry out their roles and escalate where needed
* Contribute to education and development across the profession; engage in HEI partnerships, student placements and professional development
* Plan, deliver and evaluate learning and development for staff and other professionals
Education and Development
* Develop induction and/or preceptorship of staff
* Facilitate and evaluate robust and professional student placements, working with HEIs and the Trust AHP Practice Learning and Education Facilitator
* Provide advice and support as part of HEI revalidation of pre-registration training
* Identify training, resource and development needs and deliver CPD and wider training
* Ensure ongoing advice, consultation and education for commissioners, primary care and other agencies about the role of Occupational Therapy
* Contribute to professional body guidance and evidence
