About the Role
We are seeking a committed, creative, and enthusiastic Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, MLD, ADHD, and other complex needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes for all pupils.
This role is ideal for someone who is emotionally resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting children with SEND within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
2. Implement strategies to support pupils with autism and other additional needs
3. Assist with planning and delivering tailored learning activities
4. Monitor, record, and report pupil progress effectively
5. Support positive behaviour management and conflict resolution
6. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
7. Use ICT effectively to support learning
8. Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards at all times
Essential Skills
9. Committed, creative, and enthusiastic approach to supporting pupils
10. A good classroom practitioner with knowledge of autism and effective support strategies
11. Ability to break down barriers to learning
12. Strong behaviour management and conflict management skills
13. Able to work independently and as part of a team
14. Effective communicator with pupils, staff, and parents
15. Adaptable and flexible approach to work
16. Emotionally resilient and able to work in challenging situations
17. Ability to lead learning for individuals or small groups and record progress accurately
Qualifications
18. Good numeracy and literacy skills
19. NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification ( NNEB)
20. Training in relevant learning strategies
21. Specialist knowledge in a particular curriculum area or SEND (desirable)
Experience
22. Experience working with pupils with additional needs such as complex autism, MLD, ADHD, or FASD
23. Experience supervising small groups of children
24. Previous experience supporting children with SEND
25. Good attendance record
Knowledge and Understanding
26. Good understanding of child development and learning processes
27. Working knowledge of the national curriculum / foundation stage curriculum
28. Effective use of ICT to support learning ( computers, video, photocopiers)
29. Awareness of relevant legislation relating to safeguarding and child protection

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
