An opportunity has arisen to join the team on our Children's & TYA Hematology & Oncology Ward at Leicester Royal Infirmary (Ward 27, LRI). We need an experienced, highly motivated and dedicated individual who can work with our team to deliver high quality education & patient care. The role of the Clinical Skills Facilitator is pivotal in providing leadership, education and support to our nurses, whilst ensuring that the team are up to date with all necessary training & competencies. A successful applicant will be offered the opportunity to gain skills in leadership, management and quality improvement. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the base wards & the wider multi disciplinary team within UHL. Ward 27 is a fast paced 12 bedded Haematology & Oncology ward which cares for children & young adults up to 24 years of age. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of training and skills programs within Ward 27. You will contribute to the development and implementation of specific procedures and policies to support clinical education and practice, clinical working, staff development, quality and safety, patient experience and quality standards. Working in conjunction with the Ward Sister and Practice Education Team, support the development and education of ward staff by identifying and implementing appropriate clinical skills and development opportunities. Work clinically alongside registered and non-registered staff promoting and delivering clinical skills training practice ensuring that skills adhere to UHL Policies and procedures. You will be expected to work one clinical shift a week, fulfilling the responsibilities of a band 6 nurse while on duty. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical skills training and practice development within the Ward.
