Job Purpose
Reports to: Senior NPD Technologist. The NPD Administrator plays a key supporting role within the New Product Development team, ensuring the smooth coordination and administration of product development activities. Working closely with the Senior NPD Technologist, this role combines administrative precision with market awareness, contributing to the successful delivery of innovative ice cream products for retail and food service customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date product development records and documentation.
* Liaise with cross-functional teams to gather key information required for NPD and EPD projects.
* Support the Senior NPD Technologist with day-to-day project requirements.
* Conduct market reviews to identify trends, new product launches, and competitor activity (then compile and present findings in a clear and structured format).
* Monitor retail and food service sectors for emerging opportunities.
* Carry out store visits to review product ranges, merchandising, and pricing.
* Purchase competitor or benchmark samples as required for internal review (maintain records of findings and organise and/or support product benchmarking exercises).
* Organise and track product samples, both internally and externally.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A proactive, team-oriented approach.
Desirable
* Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
* Interest in food trends, particularly within desserts or ice cream.
* Basic understanding of product development processes.
* Experience conducting market research or store audits.
Personal Attributes
* Curious and commercially aware, with an interest in market trends.
* Reliable and methodical, with a strong sense of ownership.
* Flexible and willing to support a variety of tasks.
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
