Barclays is looking for an AI Security Delivery Lead to join the core AI security delivery team, acting as the primary front door for AI security across the organisation.

This team provides hands‑on support for critical AI security services that are still emerging, including AI security consultancy, guardrails, and approval patterns. You will enable product and engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate AI safely by offering a single, trusted point of access for expert advice, reusable security patterns, and governance decisions.

* Strategic and analytical thinking: ability to translate enterprise security objectives into practical, risk‑based delivery guidance; assess complex AI solutions, prioritise risks by business impact, and balance innovation with security and compliance.
* Leadership and influence: proven capability to lead specialist teams and influence senior stakeholders across a matrix organisation, clearly articulating AI security risk in business terms and gaining buy‑in at CTO/CIO and executive forum level.

Other highly valued skills

* AI security domain expertise: hands‑on experience securing or assessing AI/ML systems, with knowledge of emerging AI security frameworks and industry guidance such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and OWASP AI/LLM guidance.
* Regulatory and industry awareness: understanding of the evolving AI regulatory landscape (e.g. the EU AI Act) and experience engaging with regulators or auditors on technology‑ and AI‑related risk.
* Thought leadership and innovation: demonstrated interest in advanced AI trends such as Generative AI, LLMs, and agentic AI, and their security implications, evidenced through publications, presentations, or industry participation.

Purpose of the role

* Management of the implementation, testing and monitoring of security controls across the bank’s IT systems to ensure the effectiveness of controls and mitigation of risk.

* Management of complex cybersecurity incidents by collaborating with IT teams and response experts to effectively resolve cases through analysis, expertise support and project supervision.
* Identification of emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and new technologies to address potential risks by advocating the adoption of new security solutions.

Vice President Expectations

* Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes. Lead a number of specialists to influence operations of a department, in alignment with strategic and tactical priorities, while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
* Demonstrate a clear set of leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver consistently excellent standards.
* For an individual contributor, act as a subject‑matter expert within own discipline and guide technical direction, lead collaborative multi‑year assignments, guide team members and train, guide and coach less experienced specialists.
* Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross‑functional areas of impact and alignment.
* Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
* Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
