We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Sheffield, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos, providing tailored support to pupils with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and moderate learning difficulties. Staff work collaboratively under the guidance of an experienced SENCO to deliver personalised learning plans and targeted interventions.
As an SEN Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons designed to meet the individual needs of pupils. You will work closely with teaching assistants, the SENCO, and class teachers to ensure pupils access the curriculum, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress in both academic and social-emotional areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN
* Implement strategies and interventions outlined in EHCPs and support plans
* Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress using appropriate tools
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, class teachers, and the SENCO
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent support
* Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants as needed
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to SEN reviews and meetings
* Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have experience teaching pupils with SEN in a school setting
* Have a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation

* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
