Autodesk is seeking motivated and ambitious Graduate Software Engineers to join our engineering team in Birmingham. This role is designed for recent graduates who are passionate about software development and eager to build a career creating innovative technology solutions.
As part of a 12-month rotational graduate programme, you will work across multiple Agile Scrum teams within the Fusion 360 engineering organisation. You will contribute to the development of complex engineering software used by customers around the world, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies, products, and development practices.
You will work alongside experienced software engineers and receivetraining,structured support and mentoring to help you develop your technical and professional skills. As your experience grows, you will take increasing ownership of designing and implementing high-quality software solutions.
As aGraduateSoftware Engineer on the Fusion team, you’ll work alongside Agile teamsof experienced developers, tackling real engineering challenges. Whether you’re coding algorithms in C++, building web features in TypeScript, or exploring AI-driven tools, you’ll gain mentorship, guidance, andthe autonomyto make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to projects across the full software development lifecycle following initial onboarding and training
2. Develop clean, reliable, and maintainable code using a range of programming languages and technologies
3. Work within Agile Scrum teams to deliver software features and improvements
4. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to engineering standards
5. Develop and maintain unit tests
6. Use source control and continuous integration tools, including GitHub and Jenkins
7. Collaborate with engineers, testers, and product teams to solve technical challenges
8. Contribute to the development of desktop, web, and engineering software applications

Skills and Experience
Essential
14. Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline
15. Predicted or achieved 2:1 or First-Class degree
16. Minimum 120 UCAS points
17. Strong interest in software engineering and technology
18. Good problem-solving and analytical skills
19. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Desirable
20. Programming experience using one or more languages such as C, C++, Java, C#or Python
21. Solid maths foundations
22. Familiarity with software development concepts and practices
23. Understanding of Agile development methodologies
