Overview
Research Assistant – Environmental Social Science in Interdisciplinary Working at the University of Surrey. Part-time role (1 day a week for a year).
About the role
You will work with the Environmental Psychology Research Group (EPRG) on a project that aims to develop a set of resources to support interdisciplinary working in environmental sustainability research and practice. The project is supervised by Prof Birgitta Gatersleben (Surrey) and Dr Ethny Childs (Institute of Environmental Sciences). It is funded by ESRC and is part of the ACCESS program.
Responsibilities
* Analyse existing case studies related to environmental sustainability and interdisciplinary working.
* Organise and run a series of interdisciplinary round tables.
* Develop a set of resources and write reports.
* Attend meetings and roundtables in London and possibly Exeter; travel expenses will be covered.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Social science background (MSc/PhD).
* Experience or interest in environmental sustainability research and interdisciplinary working.
* Good communication and organization skills.
Location and duration
Based at the Environmental Psychology Research Group (EPRG) at the University of Surrey. 1 day per week, for Oct 2025 – Oct 2026. Timings are flexible provided key deadlines and meetings are met.
