Overview
of the Transport Team Manager role:
1. Provide engaging leadership through pre-shift/de-briefings, training and coaching of driver/porters (including transportation safety and compliance).
2. Allocate fleet and crews for home delivery to correct routes, planning and optimising fleet.
3. Manage drivers’ hours ensuring records are accurate in readiness for audits and compliance.
Key skills required for the Transport Team Manager role:
4. Previous experience working in a fast-paced transport operation, with previous transport experience in a supervisory role.
5. Experienced dealing with HR related issues such as probations, disciplinaries, absences, grievances etc
6. Prior experience in using transport management systems and savvy with IT including MS packages.
