Electrically Biased Building Services Engineer
Mobile Role – Occasional travel to Cambridgeshire
We are looking for an experienced Electrically Biased Building Services Engineer to join our multidisciplined Reactive and PPM team. This is a mobile role supporting a range of client sites, delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive services.
You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of electrical and building services equipment across multiple contracts.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical and building services systems
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and helpdesk requests
* Perform electrical fault finding, diagnosis, and repairs
* Undertake electrical installations, including testing and certification
* Complete all test and inspection certificates in line with client requirements
* Maintain accurate records using the CAFM system
* Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and regulations
* Liaise with managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery of works
* Support wider team activities and complete ad hoc tasks as required
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 (Electrical Installation)
* City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection, Testing & Certification)
* City & Guilds Level 3 (2330 / 2360 or equivalent)
* 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in an industrial or commercial environment
* Strong understanding of building services maintenance and fault diagnosis
* Knowledge of health & safety practices within a building environment
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Flexible approach to working hours
Desirable Skills
* Experience using CAFM systems
* Knowledge of UPS systems
* Experience with high voltage switching
* Basic mechanical knowledge
* Previous supervisory experience
