Job Description:
EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery:
o Daily operational supervision of a team of paint shop operatives.
o Providing advice and guidance on all paint shop operations (blasting, prepping, painting, and general repairs).
o Coaching and mentoring paint shop operatives to develop skills.
o Estimating painting times, ovens, staffing requirements, and related costs to measure production and maximize efficiency.
o Developing and improving manufacturing methods with consideration to Health & Safety and Quality standards.
o Planning workplaces to optimize space utilization.
o Completing quality checks before and after jobs to ensure minimal re-work.
o Servicing the Fitting Shop and meeting production targets.
o Reporting progress to the Production Manager.
o Liaising with management regarding capabilities, schedules, and considerations.
o Monitoring and recording performance metrics to establish standard production rates.
o Streamlining purchasing to reduce costs and order frequency.
2. Performance Improvement:
o Applying the company's performance management system.
o Supporting staff in setting and achieving KPIs.
o Maintaining high standards of personal and team performance.
3. Financial and Resource Management:
o Ensuring efficient operation within financial targets.
o Seeking innovative solutions for service improvements.
4. People Management:
o Providing leadership and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
o Supporting diversity and equal opportunity policies.
o Ensuring health and safety compliance and developing safety arrangements.
o Conducting performance reviews and supporting staff development.

Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
* Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry.
* On-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience managing a Paint Shop and advising stakeholders.
* Management or Leadership qualification.
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong leadership and change management skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical, innovative, and problem-solving abilities.
* Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Additional Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours. Must hold a valid passport of the country for the vacancy or obtain a work permit.
