THE POST This post provides critical cleaning services and has a requirement to maintain standards of cleanliness at His Majesty’s Theatre, The Music Hall and The Lemon Tree You will be a member of the cleaning team working with colleagues to build our reputation regionally and nationally for providing first class services to our artists, performers and clients. You must also be able to deal courteously with members of the public acting as an ambassador for APA at all times. You along with the team will provide cleaning and housekeeping services throughout our venues with a responsibility to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act. You will play a pivotal role in the day to day cleaning of our venues, operating as a member of a high performance team in a target oriented workplace. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Main Responsibilities To ensure that standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all our venues Maintain cleaning regimes (daily, weekly, periodically etc) for all areas of the venue ensuring the following is included Thorough cleaning of all areas Dusting, vacuuming and washing down (if applicable) Cleaning of all windows and glass Polishing of mirrors, brass plates on doors etc Dusting of all ledges, pictures, high areas and skirting boards Shampooing of carpets Emptying/cleaning of waste bins (and removal of waste) Operate carpet cleaning machine and floor polisher, mopping and cleaning floors Check condition of seats and other furniture and furnishings, and report faults or repairs to the Operations Manager. Available for evening and weekend work as required Other specific cleaning jobs as requested from time to time General Contributing to an enthusiastic, positive work climate within the company, modelling behaviour as a champion of the company’s mission, vision and values and contributing to organisational development Identifying new developments, trends, practices and benchmarking opportunities to contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of customer services Assisting in the preparation of reports, service planning and performance reviews Following guidelines, procedures and policies provided by the company in relation to financial management and personnel records. Liaising with Aberdeen Performing Arts managers to ensure the smooth running of the company Attending company meetings and all internal and external meetings as required Attending key Aberdeen Performing Arts events including first nights and corporate events Complying with equality and diversity policy and practice, health and safety practices and principles and standards relating to quality management and customer care Undertaking other appropriate duties as required commensurate with the level and role of the job Working Environment Various shifts across weekdays and weekends (5 days from 7), shifts available include day time shifts usually 8am - 12 noon but with occasional afternoon or evening shifts.
