Madingley Hall is part of the Institute of Continuing Education in the University of Cambridge, built in the 16th century, this elegant country house has 16 well-equipped meeting rooms, 62 ensuite bedrooms, a professional kitchen, licensed bar, coffee shop, Lodge House available as rentable short-stay accommodation and is set in 8-acres of grounds including superb Capability Brown designed gardens.
The Role
The Linen Porter ensures the smooth and professional cleaning and servicing of the premises its bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, toilets and presenting a clean, fresh and friendly environment to the agreed standard of Madingley Hall Hotel ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
The Linen Porter will carry out the task of sorting, collection and delivery of laundry into the linen store and around the hotel. Tasks will be directed by the Housekeeping Manager/Housekeeping Supervisor on a daily basis.
To ensure a sufficient requirement of stock is in the stores at all times. To do a stock takes of stock in all storerooms, bedrooms and other necessary locations every month. To support the housekeeping team with collecting linen carts from occupied bedrooms and stocking up fresh linen. Other areas may include supporting the housekeepers, stocking up trolleys and general organisation.
This is a full-time position: variable on a rota basis 5 out of 7 days, including weekend, evenings and public holidays. The core hours will be between 8AM to 4PM.
