Your new role
Your new role as a Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter means that you will be working in a strategic, market-facing role where you will be underwriting new and renewalplex PI and Professional Lines risks. A key element of your role will be developing and growing broker relationships across the UK to identify and convert business opportunities, alongside managing and growing a profitable PI portfolio balancing risk selection with trading strategy. Some of your key responsibilities will be mentoring junior colleagues and acting as a reference for them, identifying and developing new business opportunities within target broker panels, as well as applying appropriate cover, terms, conditions, restrictions, warranties, and clauses. Other key responsibilities will include collaborating with business development colleagues to identify pipeline opportunities, cross-selling potential and emerging market trends, visiting broker panels regularly to foster profitable relationships alongside promoting thepany’s services and upholding high standards. It is important to your role that you provide insights on market trends, broker appetite andpetitor activity.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you must have experience underwriting Professional Indemnity business as well as have a track record of developing broker relationships and growing profitable portfolios. You will have strong technical knowledge of Underwriting, pricing acumen and risk assessment skills. You should be confident in negotiation, trading and business development, as well as strongmunication skills and IT proficiency. It is preferred if you hold professional qualifications such as DIP CII or progressing towards them, experience across multiplemercial specialty lines and portfolio management or strategic account oversight experience. This role would suit a professional who ismercially astute, relationship-focused, growth-oriented, entrepreneurial, proactive, collaborative, adaptable and who is a strategic thinker.
