Job Opportunity: Senior Finance Analyst

About Our Team
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact by utilizing your analytical skills to support business decisions within STMJ Health and Medical Science (HMS). HMS manages approximately 1,000 journal titles across human and animal sciences, with over 100 FTEs and revenues exceeding $200 million. Your insights will help HMS adapt to changing business needs and make informed decisions.
About The Role
You will collaborate with various departments including Publishing, Business Development, Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Finance. Your role as a business partner to Publishing Directors involves providing financial analysis, assisting with financial models, training new publishers, overseeing royalty statements, and improving management information systems. Building strong communication and relationships within the business will be key to your success.
Responsibilities
1. Provide financial analysis and reviews
2. Maintain and improve control processes
3. Ensure the quality of data supplied to the business
4. Participate in ad-hoc projects
5. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
6. Contribute to the development of financial strategies
Requirements
* Educational Qualification: Financial Degree/Diploma, CIMA / ACCA qualification
* Experience: Significant experience in a senior finance analyst role, preferably in publishing or with Elsevier
* System Skills: Advanced Excel and Oracle knowledge
* Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and persuasion skills
* Personal Attributes: Professional expertise, self-driven, culturally adaptable, curious mindset
* Results-Oriented: Customer focus, problem-solving, analytical, ability to meet deadlines, organized
* Language Skills: Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
