Offering a full-time and remote/hybrid position, this provides opportunity to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of our software products, primarily operating within Windows Server environments and built on Progress OpenEdge. Job Description: The Role This is a varied technical role combining product support, systems administration, and customer-facing technical assistance. This role bridges the gap between internal development/IT teams and customer environments, ensuring that product installations, upgrades, and system configurations are delivered reliably and efficiently. Combining technical product support, systems administration, and customer-facing technical assistance, you will working with internal teams (development, QA, and IT) as well as customer IT departments to manage environments, troubleshoot issues, and support deployments. This role also contributes towards improving operational processes and identifying opportunities for proactive or value-added technical services. Occasional travel and out of hours work may be required. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade company software within customer and internal environments Support system and platform upgrades, including migrations and versioning Provide technical support for customer environments and act as a liaison with customer IT teams Assist with new system installations and environment set up Support internal development and QA environments Assist with database administration, backups, configuration, and troubleshooting Maintain clear and repeatable technical documentation for environments and processes Contribute to process improvements, automation, and proactive technical services Participate in occasional out-of-hours activities such as deployments or upgrades Who we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who is: Curious, enthusiastic and eager to learn A strong problem-solver with excellent attention to detail A confident communicator, particularly with technical stakeholders Able to work independently and collaboratively Keen to learn and develop technical skills Skills & Experience Essential: Experience supporting enterprise applications running on Progress OpenEdge, SQL Server or Oracle in production environments Windows Server administration experience Understanding of database administration concepts and principles Experience with software deployment, upgrades, and environment management Desirable: Linux systems administration CI/CD tools such as Jenkins Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) Understanding of the SDLC Understanding of web and mobile integrations Our commitment to equality and data security Primetics is an equal opportunities employer, focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
