This 12-month maternity cover role focuses on leading, developing, and supporting the Internal Sales Office team to deliver exceptional customer service and efficient operations. As Office Manager, you will be responsible for creating an engaged, high-performing team environment where individuals are supported, motivated, and able to reach their full potential. Alongside people management, you will ensure that processes run smoothly, enabling the business to deliver outstanding service to customers, as well as doing your part in managing our customers with a hands on, can do attitude.
People Leadership
* Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and guidance to the internal sales team.
* Manage workload allocation, holiday cover, and performance across the team.
* Mentor staff, supporting professional growth and engagement.
* Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive culture.
Operational & Process Management
* Oversee the daily operations of the sales office, ensuring efficiency and high service levels.
* Track and review KPIs (orders, quotes, complaints, delayed deliveries) and implement improvements where needed.
* Work closely with purchasing, transport, deliveries, and other departments to ensure smooth processes.
* Identify and implement business process improvements.
Customer Focus
* Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained by the team.
* Provide support with escalated customer queries when needed.
* Oversee quotation, tender, and order processing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Collaboration & Support
* Build strong working relationships with Sales Managers, Marketing, and other departments.
* Support field staff and contribute to cross-departmental projects.
* Ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and effective use of ERP/EDI systems.
Required Experience & Skills
* Proven experience in managing and motivating a team.
* Strong people leadership skills with a focus on coaching and development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
* Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
* Customer service background with a track record of delivery.
* Competent with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/EDI systems desirable.
