We are looking for a Financial Controller to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, hybrid working, with regular office presence. In return, you will receive a salary of £55,000 - £60,000 per annum plus car allowance, depending on skills and experience. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, control, and compliance, and will oversee key transactional and reporting areas. The role does not include oversight of Management Accounts or FP&A personnel but building and maintaining a close working relationship with that team is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, effective financial controls, and smooth day-to-day finance operations. This is a newly created role, due to the successful ongoing growth of the business, offering broad responsibility and line management of three direct reports. Key Responsibilities Oversee external financial reporting, tax & audit. Maintain robust financial controls across the group. Lead and develop three direct reports: Accounts Payable Manager, Finance Operations Manager, and after a period of time, Group Accountant. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements. Sign off balance sheet reconciliations for all legal entites in the group. Oversee finance operations processes, including supplier payments and cash allocation into our in-house CRM system. Support the Group Finance Director with ad hoc projects, treasury management, and systems/process improvements. About You Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA). Minimum 5 years post qualification experience. Proven experience in financial reporting and controls, ideally in a Financial Controller position. Strong understanding of transactional finance and operational processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Previous team management experience, able to develop and support staff. Hands-on and detail-orientated, with a proactive approach. Experience in financial services desirable but not essential. Confident working in a dynamic, growing mid-sized business.
