Key Responsibilities
As a Paediatric Complex Care Support Worker with Coyle Homecare, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality care to service users. You will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities for this package:
* Deliver one‑on‑one care to children with complex medical needs in a home or community setting.
* Perform daily clinical tasks including:
* Tracheostomy care & management
* Airway suctioning (oral, nasal, or tracheal)
* Ventilator support (invasive or non‑invasive)
* PEG/JEJ tube feeding and medication administration
* Oxygen therapy and nebulisation
* Monitor and document clinical observations such as:
* Respiratory effort
* Oxygen saturations
* Seizure activity
* PEG tolerance and feeding records
* Maintain hygiene, dignity, and comfort through personal care assistance.
* Support play, learning, and emotional development where appropriate.
* Communicate effectively with families, case managers, and healthcare professionals.
* Respond to medical emergencies (e.g. respiratory distress, seizures), following care plan protocols and calling 999 if needed.
* Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
Requirements
Essential:
* Minimum 6 months experience in complex care or paediatrics.
* Proven hands‑on experience with:
* Tracheostomy care
* Suctioning techniques
* PEG feeding
* Ventilator support
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
* Current mandatory training (e.g., Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, Infection Control, Safeguarding).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Right to work in the UK.
