Job Title: Family & Multi-agency Liaison Coordinator (Safeguarding Responsibilities)

Location: Oakwood School, Walsall, West Midlands

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: SCP 22-27, Salary G7

Start Date: September 2025

Job Purpose:

To support and coordinate the engagement of families and multi-agency partners in the educational and welfare needs of pupils with severe learning needs (SLD) and profound and multiple learning needs (PMLD) from EYFS to Year 10.

Key Responsibilities:

* Family Support:
o Act as the primary point of contact for families, providing support and guidance.
o Facilitate effective communication between the school and families.
o Organise and lead family engagement activities and workshops.
* Multi-agency Coordination:
o Collaborate with external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for pupils.
o Coordinate multi-agency meetings and follow up on action points.
o Maintain accurate records of multi-agency interactions and interventions.
* Safeguarding:
o Ensure all safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
o Conduct safeguarding training and awareness sessions for staff and families.
o Manage safeguarding concerns and liaise with relevant authorities as necessary.
* Administrative Duties:
o Maintain detailed records of family and multi-agency interactions.
o Prepare reports and documentation for senior leadership and external agencies.
o Assist in the development and implementation of school policies related to family and multi-agency engagement.

Person Specification:

* Qualifications:
o Relevant qualifications in education, social work, or a related field.
o Safeguarding training and certification.
* Experience:
o Experience working with children with SLD and PMLD.
o Proven track record in family support and multi-agency coordination.
o Experience in a school or educational setting is desirable.
* Skills and Attributes:
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
o Empathetic, caring, and professional approach.
o Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
