Overview
We are a registered charity who have been transforming the lives of people affected by drugs and alcohol misuse for over 40 years. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team led by a consultant and providing treatment services in the community. The services include aftercare, work with young people, the community rehabilitation programme, specialist support for image and performing enhancing drugs/steroids, and a team supporting service users and carers through volunteers and peer mentors. There is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team, based in Bridlington, on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. The role will support service users with diverse and complex needs and their families with issues relating to substance use including alcohol. The post would involve assessing needs from a person-centred and strength-based perspective, with a commitment to recovery and helping each service user access information and tools to live a fulfilling life in recovery.
Responsibilities
* Assess needs from a person-centred and strength-based perspective
* Support service users and families affected by substance misuse, including alcohol
* Work within a multidisciplinary team led by a consultant
* Contribute to delivery of services across community settings (aftercare, young people, community rehabilitation programme, specialist support for image and performance enhancing drugs)
* Engage and work with volunteers and peer mentors to support service users
Qualifications
* Experience in the substance misuse field
* Relevant degree e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent
* If you are experienced in the field but do not have formal qualifications, the organisation provides a comprehensive package of accredited qualifications and for newly qualified Social Workers we support the ASYE programme
* Right to work in the UK by commencement of employment
