Out-of-Hours (OOH) Emergency Critical Care (ECC) Veterinary Surgeon
A family-run 24/7 hospital in Leeds is seeking an experienced and dedicated OOH ECC Veterinary Surgeon. The successful candidate will join a supportive team, providing high-quality care to a wide variety of cases. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to aid in providing the best care possible.
The Role:
* This position is a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota.
* The role involves supporting the existing veterinary team with their complex caseload.
* The successful candidate will have solid medical and surgical skills, with experience in ECC being essential.
* The ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care, is key to success in this position.
* The hospital encourages development within your own area of interest and offers a generous Continuing Professional Development (CPD) allowance.
Skills and Experience:
* The veterinary team is expected to deliver, with support and training:
* Oesophageal tube placements
* Silicone Abdominal Peritoneal Drains
* Pig tail urinary catheters
* TFAST AFAST
* Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
* Urinary Catheterisation
Night Duties:
The night team regularly performs caesareans, pyometra, exploratory laparotomy with enterotomy and enterectomy. They also handle many Addisonian, Ketoacidotic diabetic cases and severe pancreatitis cases.

The practice is a modern and progressive veterinary hospital, set up in 2012. It is a family-run, RCVS Accredited Hospital and Emergency Service Clinic, providing OOH and referral support to 16 referring surgeries. The hospital is run alongside a thriving first opinion business, offering a variety typically found in a busy general practice. The bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose-built to industry-leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment. The team comprises 70 members, which include 15 vets, day and night nurse teams, and supporting day and night VCAs.
