MacMillan Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our highly skilled, motivated, and dynamic Breast Cancer team at North Middlesex University Hospital. Our aim is to make a difference and improve the experience of patients diagnosed with breast cancer.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be expected to:
* Demonstrate clinical expertise in breast cancer
* Exhibit advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team working attitude
* Manage an expert caseload effectively, prioritising workload and service requirements
* Engage in audit and research to promote service development initiatives
* Be a dynamic and self-motivated individual
Proven experience in oncology is essential.

Education and Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse
* Post-basic qualification in breast care
* Advanced communication skills
* Level 2 clinical discussion training
* Physical assessment
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to manage own workload
* Experience working within an acute oncology service
* Experience as a CNS
* Up-to-date knowledge of breast pathways and treatments
* Experience undertaking nurse-led clinics
* Experience with Somerset Data Base
Experience and Personal Qualities
* Experience working as a key worker
* Knowledge and experience of undertaking HNA and recovery packages
* Experience of end-of-care treatment summaries
* Knowledge of breast pathways and one-stop clinics
* SACT training / holding a SACT passport
* Experience with stratified pathways
* Management of complex surgical wounds
