We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join a welcoming primary school, providing tailored support to pupils in Key Stage 2 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s learning journey and emotional development.

Role Responsibilities:

* Work closely with KS2 pupils with ASC to support their learning, communication, and social development.

* Adapt lesson activities and resources to suit individual learning needs.

* Provide emotional and behavioural support, using strategies that promote independence and self-confidence.

* Collaborate with class teachers, SENCo, and external professionals to deliver personalised education plans.

* Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.

Requirements:

* Proven experience supporting children with ASC, ideally in a primary school setting.

* Strong understanding of autism and effective support strategies.

* Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.

* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
