3 months contract with local authority The Council is seeking an experienced lawyer to fill the role of Lead Regeneration and Property Lawyer in Legal Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving forward the council's ambitious programme of regeneration and housing development, playing a lead role in facilitating the delivery of regeneration plans and carrying a varied and complex caseload. Responsibilities: Act as the Lead Regeneration and Property Lawyer to drive forward the council's regeneration and housing development programme Facilitate the delivery of regeneration plans by working with colleagues across the Council Manage a varied and complex caseload, including development agreements, commercial and residential property transactions, planning and highways issues, compulsory purchase matters, governance, and ancillary issues arising from larger projects Provide clear and concise legal advice to a variety of audiences Work collaboratively and flexibly as part of larger project teams Requirements Prior local government experience is desirable, not essential Keen interest in and enthusiasm for local government Excellent communication and drafting skills Qualified solicitor, barrister, or fellow of the ILEX Ability to work at pace in a busy team Willingness to work in a hybrid working pattern, attending the office 2-3 days per week
